# kenkai.app

> kenkai.app is a free web app for kendo clubs and kendoka. It shows no ads and does not sell data. It works in any browser on a phone, tablet or computer. It is in English (default), Japanese and Vietnamese.

## For kendoka
- Today and the week ahead: the next session, venue and the coach's message, in the club's local time.
- Subscribe to weekly trainings; get push or email when one changes or is cancelled.
- QR check-in at the dojo.
- A training record: a year grid of sessions with hours, sessions and week streaks; add home practice by hand.
- Training notes and practice menus, private or shared with a senpai or kohai.
- One home club, and guest access at other clubs.

## For clubs
- Weekly trainings and one-off events (gradings, seminars, competitions with registration).
- Attendance by QR check-in (members and visitors) or by a coach (Here / Away, walk-ins).
- Members, guests, join requests, and grades set by the club admin.
- Announcements, cancellations, and health notices that never name the person.

## Tools
- Keiko timer: presets for jigeiko (2 min rounds, 15 s to change partners), kakari-geiko, uchikomi and shiai; start beeps, a warning before the end, a stop tone; keeps the screen on; works offline.
- Wall clock: a large clock for a tablet or laptop at the dojo; dark screen, stays on, updates once a minute.

## Cost
Free for every kendoka and every club, with no limit on members. No ads. Clubs may donate (write it in the club form's message).

## How a club joins
Send the "Register your club" form at https://kenkai.app/#register. kenkai.app emails the club to check it, then creates the club and makes the sender its admin.
